Let me introduce myself.

I was one of the strong Bush supporters in 2000 and in 2004.  I was so active in the 2004 campaign, that the Bush/Cheney campaign headquarters called me up, personally, and told me that they were excited about what I was doing, and informed me that my Bush Block Party was one of the first in the nation for the campaign.  I am certain that I converted more than a few Democrats at the time to come over to the other side.

Why was I so enthusiastic for Bush/Cheney at the time?  Because my mind was strongly focused on a few vital human rights issues, that I felt the Bush presidency would defend.  The biggest in my mind at the time, was the "right to life" for even the smallest among us—the sanctity and equality of all human life.  It was my hope that with a Supreme Court change, we would at LEAST stop executing full-term babies, legally.  It was personal to me.

This narrow focus, however, may have put blinders on my eyes to many ominous signs.  I even remember getting mad at Bush for jeopardizing "right to life" issues, by invading Iraq so rashly, and without world support on board.  I reluctantly defended him on even this issue, because Saddam was a terrible person, but also because I feared a pro-abortionist obtaining the presidency in '04, before any Supreme Court justices had been replaced.

My blind spots only grew and grew, until I found myself defending things that under normal circumstances I would NEVER defend!  I was defending the Patriot Act, while in the back of my mind I knew it opened up our nation to terrible abuses akin to abuses seen in Iraq itself, where even in taxicabs, citizens were afraid to speak their minds openly!  I was blanketly defending our troops (I still do, but not so naively), with naive assurances of their utmost humanity, and that they were experiencing the most humane training techniques, and being urged to ALWAYS respect ALL human rights, by their leadership.  Imagine my chagrin when my own brother, stationed in Iraq, started telling me of his OWN discomfort with stories, which other troops were telling him while he was in Baghdad for R&R!  And then when he voted for Kerry, despite all of my political chumming with him in favor of Bush, at an earlier time!  Then there was the Abu Ghraib story that sickened and disillusioned me.  It was at the time of Abu Ghraib, that I started putting some pieces of the puzzle together, although I still supported Bush.  I remembered the torture memo that had been drawn up by Alberto Gonzalez, which even then had given me great concern, and I started wondering about Guantanamo, which had also concerned me secretly.  But I kept on hoping for the best, and longing for confirmation that these were all isolated issues.

In 2005 the Bush administration completed my growing disillusionment, when revelation after revelation came out, demonstrating over and over again, that the administration was hell-bent on using the 'war on terror' to make a massive power grab of our civil liberties!  I hoped and wished it wasn't so, but even all of the hollow public denials, demonstrated a doublespeak quality used by sophisticated liars.  It grew worse and worse, as daily and weekly I was discovering evidences of abuses by secret services, abuses by the military, misinformation campaigns designed to put the public to sleep, violations of privacy rights, overzealous prosecutions, interrogation techniques bordering on torture, renditions designed to get around our own laws designed to protect human rights, etc.

But possibly the most damning evidence to me, was the LACK of sufficient denials by the president and the justice department, or by the defense department!  Instead of saying we absolutely do NONE of these things, the administration lawyers started appearing on C-Span DEFENDING abuses of human rights, violations of privacy, and denials of fair trials, etc.!  I started hearing about massive volume increases in National Security Letters which COULD NOT BE CHALLENGED, and about secret evidence used against detainees that COULD NOT BE CHALLENGED, and of WARRANTLESS wiretapping into the most private communications of Americans that again, COULD NOT BE CHALLENGED, even though it is a violation of the fourth amendment to have ANY search or seizure of "persons, houses, papers, and effects," without "Warrants" based on "probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

The administration started trying to obtain all the Google search records of all people, they started campaigning to have a "Long War" and sending Republicans talking points about staying in Iraq "as long as it takes", even though I remember the talking points that I used back in '03, in which they then promised to go into Iraq to do a surgical operation, and then GET OUT!  At this time it was also revealed that the biggest U.S. embassy in the entire world was being constructed PERMANENTLY in Iraq!  And I remember the talking points that I used back in '03 and '04, in which they swore that the war had NOTHING to do with "imperial ambitions".  I began hearing about the massive quantity of signing statements used by George Bush on new legislation, essentially stating on most new bills, that he reserves the right for the executive branch to disregard the law being signed!  And it usually revolved around his reserving the right to VIOLATE human rights, in the name of spreading democracy!  The irony of that was not lost on me!  And the excuses and denials have only become more transparently misleading over time.  It was recently proved that the "Terrorist Surveillance Program" was essentially a lie to calm the public, in which the administration, in response to revelations about their unconstitutional surveillance of Americans, had split their program into more than one, and then only REVEALED the TERRORIST SPLINTER!  Recent testimony contradictions under oath by Al Gonzo, proved that the "TSP" label had never been meant to cover the WHOLE ORIGINAL PROGRAM!

Now, though I've been deeply disheartened by my own government's active attacks against our most basic liberties, and underlying principles on which America was founded, I yet have found "HOPE FOR AMERICA" in the once obscure congressman named Ron Paul!!!  I only have VERY little free time in which to do anything that is my PERSONAL prerogative.  This is why I am calling for YOUR help to make this BLOG come alive, and to STOP the suppression of Ron Paul and his CALL TO RETURN TO OUR FUNDAMENTAL LIBERTIES!

The purpose of this blog is to expose the corruption that is rampant in our Neocon government, as well as the widespread media attempts to BURY Ron Paul, and with him, the HOPE FOR AMERICA to return to its foundational principles of liberty!  I have never been susceptible to conspiracy theories, but this summer, after I discovered Ron Paul, it has almost seemed to me that there is a REAL CONSPIRACY between all of the major traditional media outlets in our nation, to suppress Ron Paul!  When Ron Paul has had phenomenal success on the internet and in fund raising, and even when he is showing high, and winning, in Straw Polls across the country, his name is scarcely ever mentioned in traditional outlets!  At the same time, candidates who are BEHIND Ron Paul in many respects are mentioned often.  And it isn't that the outlets such as "Fair and Balanced" FOX, don't KNOW about Ron Paul, because even FOX did comment last spring, upon the amazing amount of requests from write-ins, for them to mention Ron Paul on their "Because You Asked" segment.  But where did PAUL'S voice go from there on FOX, which is supposed to let "YOU DECIDE"?  It went, I believe, into the Sean Hannity Suppression Tank!  CNN is no better!  and SHAME ON YOU MSNBC! because Ron Paul deserves better coverage from YOU, since you've proven to CARE about some issues involving liberty!  It isn't only a Democrat who can champion liberty! 

All of these networks almost seem to have gotten a memo from President Bush, saying in effect, "We don't mind you covering the campaign stories of the Democrats—that can't be helped—but please don't give any air time to this firebrand named Ron Paul, because we have evidence, which 'state secrets' law prevents us from revealing, that assures us a successful Ron Paul campaign would endanger our 'national security'!  You've just got to 'trust us' on this one!"

Please help me to expose government corruption, and the media's attempt to bury Ron Paul!  They are trying to bury Ron Paul and his ideas WAY TOO PREMATURELY, but YOU can help stop the burial, by sending the LOUD message that, 

YOU CAN'T BURY LIBERTY!

I need your examples of this premature media attempt at a Ron Paul burial, to be posted on this sight, and for you to tell others about the site!
