"If you catch a politician using religion..."

Calling All Americans,

We the people! It's a great feeling to hear these
words over 200 years later. I am writing this to
remind all voters where our country has come from.
Our founding fathers established this country because
they knew they needed to dissolve political bands and
come together as one people to throw off corrupt
government. I believe we the people must come to the
same realization and come to terms with our country's
current condition.

Our country is in need of our founding fathers'
ideals and morals. The founders new the only way our
constitution would work, is if our country was
comprised of moral and honest people. I believe we the
people are all the above, and more, but we must remember
that with great freedom comes great responsibility.

When I say freedom, I mean all freedoms! When
making your decision of whom to vote for, please search
for a candidate that will truthfully and honestly
follow our Constitution of the United States. I know of one
honest politician! Ha ha! I have good news! There is one
honest candidate out there running for president!

Our founders believed in separation of church and
state because they knew if they followed the
Constitution, personal beliefs would never come into
play. If you catch a politician using religion as a
campaigning tool, stop, and move on to the next
candidate! We the people have lost faith in our
Constitution, because lobbyists and special interest
groups have corrupted our politicians. There is one
candidate, however, who knows how to effectively fix
this problem.

In closing, I urge everyone, please pick up a copy of
the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution of
the United States. Read and follow the words that have
sustained this country for over 200 years! Now is NOT
the time for politics as usual, it is time to stop
being good Republicans and good Democrats, and to start
being great Americans!

The presidential candidate I am writing about is Ron Paul.

P.S. His candidacy is no laughing matter, I'm sure our
founding fathers had their doubts, when they
established this country that we the people have come to
love and cherish.

    Thanks Jed!

    Jed,

The comment you wrote (also the title) about a politician using his religion, is GREATLY needed in discussions right now, since there is a popular candidate
basically running on his ministerial credentials (I'm a minister, too, but
would NOT do that, if I ever run for a public office), in order to appeal to
the extreme Christian right. This can be so dangerous for liberty!

Ron Paul, too, is a conservative Christian (and he's not ashamed to admit
it), but you don't see him flaunting his faith for political gain, and
intimating to voters, that he will legislate elements of his faith system,
to be enforced by "the sword", which is the dangerous sphere of the state.

Search Huckabee on this blog, and there is a good article partly about this topic, posted at the beginning of January.
