The comment you wrote (also the title) about a politician using his religion, is GREATLY needed in discussions right now, since there is a popular candidate
basically running on his ministerial credentials (I'm a minister, too, but
would NOT do that, if I ever run for a public office), in order to appeal to
the extreme Christian right. This can be so dangerous for liberty!

Ron Paul, too, is a conservative Christian (and he's not ashamed to admit
it), but you don't see him flaunting his faith for political gain, and
intimating to voters, that he will legislate elements of his faith system,
to be enforced by "the sword", which is the dangerous sphere of the state.
